NEW CALIFORNIA BILL WOULD BAN MSOs!

NEW CALIFORNIA BILL WOULD BAN MSOs!

Act now to defeat this legislation and protect your practice

Legislation banning Management Services Organizations (MSOs) is moving through the Legislature. AB 3129 would effectively ban ALL MSO arrangements for private investors, causing chaos for the thousands of physicians who work for practices that partner with MSOs.

Lawmakers need to hear from you

This is an existential crisis for MSOs in California!  California legislators are unaware of the benefits the MSO model has for patients and providers. They’ve been hearing a one-sided, false story from the bill’s sponsors who claim the MSO model threatens physician autonomy and patient care. This reflects a similar false narrative being pushed efforts by some interest groups across the country.

Dear [LAWMAKER],

We are writing to urge you to oppose AB 3129, a bill that would cut off critically-needed funding for health care in communities throughout California and effectively end the successful Management Services Organization (MSO) model used by hundreds of medical practices in California.

MSOs provide physician and psychiatric practices with non-clinical support services like administrative, billing, and contracting, so that physicians can concentrate on providing clinical care to their patients.  This arrangement helps ensure physicians aren’t spending their time on admin, helping to further California’s efforts to improve access to high-quality, affordable health care.

AB 3129 would effectively eliminate the more than 200 MSOs operating in California, causing chaos for physician groups and the patients they serve as physician groups scramble to find or develop alternative administrative, management and billing services.

For these reasons, we respectfully urge you to oppose AB 3129.

Thank you for your consideration.
